Panorama is the Weitzman School of Design’s City and Regional Planning  journal. The journal is entirely student-run and highlights the best written and design work in the City Planning department and beyond. As a club, we review submissions, work with students to edit their work, and publish the work in an annual journal.

POSITIONS:

We are looking to hire 2 Copy Editors and 1 Graphics Editor. Each position is a two year commitment.

What is the commitment? We will meet 2-3 times before break and weekly in the spring semester. Most of the work is concentrated between mid-January and mid-March. There’s some heavy lifting for a couple of weeks with editing pieces and a few days in the final push to assemble the journal-- but it is not too bad!

EXPECTATIONS:

Every copy editor will read all the student submissions for the journal, but you will only be required to support edits for 4-5 pieces as a copy editor. The design editors will be responsible for the layout of the journal. If you’re a design editor, we expect you to know the ropes of InDesign. If you’re a copy editor, experience in InDesign is preferred, not required. For first-year MCPs, InDesign skills acquired through Workshop are sufficient for the copy editor roles.

There’s no set amount of writing experience required for Panorama. We’re looking for strong writers who are excited about sharing the work of our student body. Just be prepared to submit a writing sample and/or design portfolio as part of your application.

COMPENSATION:

$1000 for the semester, you are typically paid monthly
